Brad Booms, Owner and CPA
Brad grew up in the Thumb of Michigan on his family farm in Harbor Beach, Michigan. Upon graduating high school in 2010, Brad attended Delta College and Northwood where he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northwood University in May 2013 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Accounting. He completed the four parts of the CPA exams along with the work experience requirement and received his CPA license in April 2014. Brad is a member of the AICPA and the MICPA. He resides in their country home with his wife, Camay, and sons, Blane and Connor. When he’s not crunching numbers and building his business he enjoys spending time with his family and friends and is an avid outdoorsman.
Experience
Brad worked at Yeo & Yeo CPAs & Business Consultants (a regional accounting firm based in Midland, Michigan for 4 and ½ years) providing tax and consulting services to small to medium sized businesses and high net worth individuals. There he also became a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and assisted clients with their QuickBooks program and accounting software needs. In May of 2017, Brad moved closer to home and transitioned to Nietzke & Faupel, PC (a leading Agricultural-based CPA firm in Pigeon, MI). Here he learned about accounting and taxes related to Agribusinesses and accrual basis financial statements.

Brad had a successful history of fulfilling client needs as a CPA in both regional and local accounting firms. With quality work, reliability, and timeliness Brad grew in knowledge and experience of accounting for a number of different industries. Brad founded the firm on October 11, 2019, upon his withdrawal from a local accounting firm.

Terry McMullen, CPA, CFP, PFS
Terry McMullen is a life-long resident of Huron County in Michigan’s Thumb. He is a 1971 graduate of Bad Axe High School and 1975 graduate of Ferris State University.
He began his career in 1975 and has attained numerous professional designations including CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CFP (Certified Financial Planner), PFS (Personal Financial Specialist). He is a member of the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) and MICPA (Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants).
He is a past president of the Bad Axe Lions Club and Verona Hills Golf club and Delta Sigma Pi (professional business fraternity) Delta Rho chapter. Mr. McMullen attends educational seminars regularly to maintain his professional designations and assure he possesses the most recent and up to date knowledge in the tax and financial planning arena.
Mr. McMullen has been in public accounting for more than four decades and provides innovative tax & financial planning services to individual and small business clients throughout Michigan and beyond. Mr. McMullen is licensed in the State of Michigan and State of New York as a CPA (Certified Public Accountant).
Anesa Ruthig
Anesa Ruthig is joining Booms Accounting after working 25 years in public accounting for Terrence McMullen PC. She earned her Associates Degree in Accounting from Oakland Community College.
Her duties include preparation of income tax and payroll tax returns, client bookkeeping, and financial statement preparation.
Anesa enjoys bowling, gardening, and spending time with friends & family. Anesa is a member of the Ubly Woman’s Life Chapter 813, Association Manager of the Upper Thumb Area USBC and Deputy Treasurer for Bingham Township. Anesa resides in Ubly with her husband, Greg.
Johanna Braun, Administrative Assistant
Johanna is a 2018 graduate of Harbor Beach High School. She is in her second year of college, enrolled in Michigan State University-Institute of Agricultural Technology's program at Delta College.
When not studying for classes, she enjoys being outdoors on her family farm, spending time with family and friends, reading a good book, or putting a puzzle together. She also takes pride in volunteering in the local community and being a Delta College Collegiate Farm Bureau member.
Angelica Lutjens
Angelica is a 2015 graduate of Lapeer Community Schools. She has lived in Huron County for the last three years. Angelica is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in accounting through Southern New Hampshire University.
When she is not working or studying, she enjoys being outside playing with her two dogs and spending time with her family and friends.
